The Nanovac NVISO160K LN2 plate assembly is a compact device designed to operate at cryogenic (<-150°C) temperatures within a Galaxy series vacuum chamber. The unit requires control from a Galaxy SpaceSoft equipped system to ensure compliant operation. The unit has an integrated defrost stage that allows for faster defrosting upon ventilation of the chamber. This feature can also be used for in-situ defrosting (provided the vacuum system can handle the additional gas load). A sacrificial plate (typically anodized aluminimum (on side) is attached to the cold plate by means of a M3 array of bolts. A type K thermocouple is mounted on the side of the cold plate to allow for


- Monitoring of cold plate operational temperature
- Closed loop control of LN2 consumption (reduces “calls” for LN2)
- Limited temperature control from cryogenic temperatures up to 120°C

 

A 9-pin D-sub connector (ERVAC E series) is integrated to allow for temperature control and power control (power rated for the defroster 2 channel package). The system requires external LN2 supply, preferably a pressurized Dewar system or a dedicated cryogenic supply. Note, a “passive” dewar can be used, but requires additional hardware (LN2 extraction pump).
